André Kunz Sana
Executive & Technical Director
Born and raised in Porto Alegre, southern Brazil, André Kunz Sana’s connection to Grêmio runs deep. His passion for the club was passed down through generations — his grandfather was one of Grêmio’s standout goalkeepers in 1917 and 1918, and his father, a devoted fan, kept the tradition alive.
André began playing futsal at just 4 years old at Bráulio Futsal Academy. By age 7, he joined Ivo Wortmann Escola de Futebol, led by former Grêmio professional Ivo Wortmann. A year later, he was accepted into Grêmio Escola de Futebol, where he developed his full potential as a young player — both technically and personally.
He went on to play in Brazil and Spain during his career, gaining valuable experience and perspective along the way. Today, as Executive & Technical Director, André is focused on bringing Grêmio’s proven Brazilian methodology to San Diego, where he’s making a lasting impact by helping youth athletes grow with confidence, discipline, and a deep love for the game.
